Gregory's Story - The Life We Celebrate

       Chicky and Brody

MAY 31, 1965 —MAY 12, 2004

Gregory“Chickenman” Riley grew up in Dedham, Massachusetts and lived there with his girlfriend and intended wife, Kerri Sullivan.

On May 11, 2004, Gregory (Chicky) was on his way to a meeting, driving his Heritage soft tail Harley, when he was tragically killed in an accident. Witnesses were spellbound as they watched hoped and prayed that he would avoid a collision. Unfortunately, his tail pipe caught the bumper. He was high-sided. His Harley suffered little damage, but Chicky sustained fatal injuries, later dying at a nearby Boston hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

We were devastated by the tragic loss of this incredible man who overcame great challenges from his early life. Despite adversity, he triumphed into recovery for 6½ years. He blessed many with his generous heart, integrity, hope, and desire to give back. He inspired many others to have the courage to save their own lives. He believed that if all lived by the 12 steps the world would be a better place. If you disagreed, that was OK with him.

We encourage you to celebrate this special man who was an accomplished athlete, hockey player, avid golfer, fisherman and lover of music, especially music of the band “Drop Kick Murphy's”. This web site is our tribute to him and our way of carrying his generous and joyful spirit on, to assure that the gifts he gave to all of us will never be lost or forgotten.

Help us preserve the memory of one of God’s finest as we all continue to “Pay It Forward”. Playing and having a good time were his favorite things to do! The first annual golf tournament was a great success; the 2nd was even better! Please come and help us to make the next one the best of all!

Chicky's Prayer
May God’s light fill and surround us
May the breath of the Holy Spirit strengthen and sustain us May the sparkle of a child’s giggle tickle our hearts as the Joy-filled memories of Gregory Michael Chickenman Riley continue to help us heal.
